After years of thinking I was allergic to everything under the sun, I found out yesterday that I only have two things to fear: red mulberry trees and dust mites. The mites, especially.

In retrospect, it makes sense: I have violent sneezing fits when I clean or do laundry. My allergies never seem to follow pollen or mold counts. I breathe easier in rooms with hardwoods flooring.

I’ve been given lots of new toys (read: nose spray, saline squirters, and eye drops) – all things I hate. There was talk of new pillows, special bed covers, and allergy shots, but I think I’m just going to take things one step at a time.

I tried to get a cleaning lady, but that violates one of Gregg’s principles (one of the stingy ones) and he promises to vacuum more.

At least I know that I’m not a hypochondriac or drama queen when it comes to my sneezing anymore.

Any good hints or advice that I should be aware of?
